Parental Rights Ammendment

The Home School Legal Defense Association is seeing an increasing threat to parental rights in the U.S. from judges using international law as a basis to usurp United States legislation, and also from the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.
In response, they have established ParentalRights.org to spread awareness of the issue and are petitioning for an amendment to the Constitution in order to protect the rights of parents.
Regarding the Constitutional amendment, a contrasting viewpoint is presented on the
Consent Of The Governed blog.
So, what are your thoughts on the attack on parental rights and the Constitutional amendment? Do you see any holes in either of the two arguments from HSLDA or from NHELD (Consent of the Governed is by the Research Director for NHELD)?
